Cold conditions are likely to return as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a sharp fall in the minimum or the night temperature in different parts of Odisha in the coming days.
As per the latest IMD forecast, the night temperature is very likely to fall gradually by 3 to 5 degree C at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next four to five days.
Even though the overall weather conditions will remain dry, the fall in minimum temperature is likely cause inconvenience to people in different parts of the state. As per the IMD, yesterday’s low pressure area over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood has become less marked.

However, the associated cyclonic circulation now lies over north interior Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood and extends up to mid tropospheric levels. A fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge over north Andaman Sea during next 24 hours. Under the influence of the above two systems, widespread light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, isolated to scattered light/moderate rainfall over Lakshadweep, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during the next five days.
Minimum Temperature Forecast
Gradual fall in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C is very likely over many parts of East India during the next three days and no significant change thereafter. No significant change in minimum temperatures is expected over the rest parts of the country during the next five days.
