With a possible cyclone on the cards, Odisha is all set to witness an intense spell of rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday sounded an ‘Orange Warning’ for heavy to very heavy rains in several parts of Odisha from December 3.

As per the IMD, a low pressure area lies over South Thailand and neighbourhood and it is likely to emerge into Andaman Sea in the next 12 hours. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression by December 2 and intensify into a cyclonic storm over Central Bay of Bengal during the subsequent 24 hours,” said IMD in its latest bulletin.
