Clearing air on the exact location where the cyclonic storm will hit, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday informed that cyclone Dana is likely to make landfall somewhere between Bhitarkanika and Dhamra.
Bhubaneswar IMD scientist Umashankar Das today informed that a severe cyclonic storm is likely to develop and it is around 520 km away from Paradip and 600 km away from Sagar Island.
The maximum impact of cyclone Dana is likely to be on October 24 and early morning of October 25.

The coastal parts of Odisha- Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Ganjam, Puri and Cuttack are likely to experience rainfall activities from today. Maximum heavy rainfall in several parts of the state will be from tomorrow, said Das.

The intensity of rainfall will be higher in the districts on October 24 and 25 and already fishermen have been advised to return to the shore. The wind speed is likely to increase in coastal belts of the state from today.
“The landfall of severe cyclonic storm Dana is likely to be close to Bhitarkanika and Dhamra,” said Das.
