'Cyclone Yaas'  Alert: IMD Says North Odisha Likely To Be More Affected

The India Meteorological Department on Thursday issued an alert confirming likelihood of formation of a low pressure area over north Andaman Sea and adjoining East-central Bay of Bengal around May 22 and its gradual intensification into a cyclonic storm by May 24.

The weather forecasting agency has issued a warning that light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy falls at isolated places very likely to commence from 25th May over coastal districts of Odisha with a significant increase in intensity and also spatial extension subsequently.
