Doomsday, the day of final judgement or a time of catastrophic destruction or death, has long fascinated and terrified humanity. This hypothetical end of the world is the prospect of an apocalyptic event that could wipe out life on Earth. From ancient myths to modern-day prophecies, the fear of doomsday has persisted. Throughout history, several signs and signals have been interpreted as indicators of an impending doomsday. Recently, one video of a mysterious creature being dubbed as a 'doomsday fish' has surfaced on the internet.

As claimed, the deep sea creature called the oarfish is rarely seen by humans. The shimmering oarfish surfaced in the shallow waters on a beach in Playa El Quemmado in Baja California Sur, Mexico. The deep sea creature washed ashore and was spotted by beachgoers leaving them shocked as not only was it seen in daylight but was alive.
Notably, oarfish is a deep sea creature and are rare to spot as they are located in the oven's great depths, ranging from 650 feet to upwards of 3,200 feet.
Though uncommon, several deep sea creatures like squids, crustaceans and jellyfish have been spotted multiple times on the surface.
While the source of the video couldn't be verified, it is shared on X by rebootjays. Sharing the video, one user wrote, "A deep-sea creature rarely seen by humans called the oarfish has washed ashore in Mexico! Legend has it that this mysterious “doomsday fish” only emerges from the ocean’s depths when disaster is near. (sic)
Some believe that oarfish foreshadow natural disasters such as earthquakes or tsunamis.
Well, the oarfish in the clip is small as it can grow up to 36 feet long and weigh hundreds of pounds.
