Arranged marriages can be scary. A real-life example of this incident has now gone viral on social media, drawing millions of views and a wide range of reactions.
The clip, shared on Instagram, shows a bride who suddenly started crying, right after she exchanged garlands with the groom and had her first proper look at him.
Despite the crowd's cheers and blessings, she begins to cry uncontrollably, making her relatives visibly upset.
Many viewers think that the groom was not the bride’s choice, causing her emotional reaction. Her sisters and female family members rush to comfort her, but the bride remains very upset. The groom's appearance next to her also seems to be the reason for her tears, as suspected by netizens in the comments.
Meanwhile, social media reactions ranged from humor to sympathy, and even anger.
“And this is why I am never having an arranged marriage,” quipped one viewer in the comments. “Always use two-factor authentication,” wrote another. Others joined in with “Did he look that bad” and “I think he did not have a government job”.
