Animal behaviour is certainly unpredictable. Recently, a video of a wild bear took the internet by storm and left netizens shocked. In the viral video, the sloth bear is seen hugging a Shivling. The video spread like wildfire on social media winning the hearts of netizens. And now, a video of a monkey hugging Shivling and another monkey offering obeisance has gone viral on social media.
In one video, a monkey is seen hugging a Shivling. Like any other staunch human devotee of Lord Shiva, the monkey holds the Shivling tightly with its forelegs, eyes closed. Moreover, the primate rests its head atop the Shivling.
The next video shows another monkey sitting on the Yoni/Peetha bowing down its head in front of the Shivling. A while later, it sleeps on the white cloth spreading on the peetha from the Shivling. The monkey remained for an extended period and people speculated that the primate was offering obeisance to Lord Shiva.

While the origin of both videos couldn't be verified, they have won the hearts of the netizens.
Notably, in a similar incident, a video of a wild sloth bear hugging a Shivling had recently surfaced on the internet. Reportedly, the video was captured at Chandi Mata Temple in Chhattisgarh's Baghbahara. While the bear had wrapped its forelegs around the Shivling, it rested its head atop the idol. Surprisingly, the bear is seen gently moving its paws on the idol and it remained for an extended time. The Shivling resembled the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirling in Ujjain as it was detailed with Lord Shiva’s face.
These heartwarming videos have made people speculate about these wild animals' divine connection with Lord Shiva. Indeed, such visuals are rare.
