Amid the uproar over Atul Subhash's suicide and the ensuing debate on the misuse of dowry laws, a separate case has emerged involving a so-called "Looteri Dulhan," who allegedly swindled ₹1.25 crore through divorce settlements over the past decade.

According to an NDTV report, the accused, identified as Seema, alias Nikki, from Uttarakhand, married three men since 2013, ending each marriage and securing large sums in maintenance.

As per reports, Seema first married a businessman from Agra in 2013 and later filed a case against his family, ultimately receiving ₹75 lakh as part of a settlement.

In 2017, she married a software engineer from Gurugram and secured ₹10 lakh as a settlement after separating from him.

In 2023, Seema married a businessman from Jaipur but soon fled his home with jewellery and cash worth ₹36 lakh. Following a complaint from the family, she was arrested later.

Reportedly, a special team from the Murlipura police station tracked Seema to her home in Dehradun, where she was arrested.
Over a decade and three marriages, Seema amassed ₹1.25 crore through settlements.

Police investigations revealed that Seema targeted her victims on matrimonial sites, focusing on wealthy men who were either divorced or widowed. By marrying in different states and exploiting legal loopholes, she managed to extract substantial sums through settlements in each case.

According to News18 Rajasthan, Seema is suspected of blackmailing wealthy men by marrying them and filing fabricated cases against their families.

Meanwhile, police are investigating her modus operandi and finding out if she had additional victims.
