Reliance Jio has raised its mobile tariff prices by up to 25%, marking the first increase in nearly three years.
The new plans offer different benefits and service changes. Other networks like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have also increased their tariff plans.
In Jio, the least expensive monthly plan now costs Rs 189 and is valid for 28 days.
The most expensive plan costs Rs 3599 and is valid for 365 days. Many people rushed to recharge their old plans before July 3 to avoid paying higher prices due to this tariff hike.
However, it is important to be cautious when recharging. Previously, a pack like the Rs 209 plan from Jio offered 1GB data per day for 28 days.
Now after July 3, the price of this package has increased to Rs 249 under the new tariff plan.
The issue lies in the fact that the Rs 209 price is still displayed in the Jio app. Now users might mistakenly recharge this thinking they will receive the same benefits—1GB of data per day and unlimited calls.
But now, for Rs 209, users only get 22 days of validity instead of 28. Similarly, Rs 179 recharge offers 1GB data per day for 18 days, and a Rs 149 recharge offers the same for 14 days along with unlimited calls.

Therefore, when recharging through your smartphone, carefully check the plan benefits.
