Aadhaar is a 12-digit identification number provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to Indian citizens, serving as evidence of identity and address nationwide.
Nonetheless, many Aadhaar holders struggle with determining the linked mobile number or email address.
To tackle this issue, UIDAI introduced a service enabling citizens to verify which mobile number and email address are associated with their Aadhaar cards.
How to Use the ‘Mobile/Email Address Verify’ Service:
The 'mobile/email address verify' service was created to enable users to verify which mobile number is linked to their Aadhaar.
The following are the steps to use this service.
Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ or click here: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
Click on 'My Aadhaar' and select 'Verify Email/Mobile number'.
Choose one of the following options:
- To verify mobile number: Select 'Verify Mobile number'.
- To verify email address: Select 'Verify Email address'.
Input the following information:
- Aadhaar number
- Mobile number/Email address
- Captcha
Click on 'Send OTP' and enter the received OTP.
When the phone number or email address entered is not connected to the provided Aadhaar number, the service will prompt users to take necessary actions.
On the other hand, if the phone number or email address is verified and linked, users will receive a message on their screen stating, "The mobile number you have entered is already verified with our records."
Verify Service: Dos and Don'ts
The 'mobile/email address verify' service is designed solely to enable users to check which mobile number is linked to their Aadhaar.
Here are some things you can and cannot do with this service:
Can
- Verify the linked mobile number and email address with your Aadhaar.
- Identify the last three digits of the phone number connected to your Aadhaar.
Can't:
- Modify the mobile number or email address connected to your Aadhaar using this service.
To do so, you must visit the nearest Aadhaar center with the required documentation as evidence.
