A video of a heated moment between Indian cricketers Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and spinner Kuldeep Yadav during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final against Australia on Tuesday has gone viral on social media.
The incident saw both the captain and the former captain visibly frustrated after a fielding misfield involving Yadav, following which they both were seen mouthing expletives to Yadav.
What Happened During the Match?
During Australia’s innings in the 32nd over, Steve Smith flicked a delivery towards mid-wicket. Virat Kohli then swiftly collected the ball and aimed a sharp throw at the non-striker’s end.
However, Kuldeep Yadav, instead of backing up to collect the throw, awkwardly stepped aside, letting the ball pass. Fortunately, Rohit Sharma, positioned nearby, retrieved the ball and saved a possible boundary, but he immediately erupted in anger.
An expletive-filled rant was then caught on camera with the rare sight of both the senior players lashing out at their teammates drawing sharp reactions from fans, with the clip going viral on social media.

Mixed Reactions from Fans
While some supporters criticized the seniors for publicly shaming a teammate, others argued that it was all a part of the game. “100% effort is needed, this is an ICC semi-final,” commented a fan. Conversely, others termed the outburst “unnecessary” and “demoralizing”.
However, the general consensus remained that it was all in the heat of the moment given the high stakes of the game.
