Announcing Hardik Pandya’s captainship and Rohit Sharma’s removal, MI took to social media and wrote, “Ro, In 2013 you took over as captain of MI. You asked us to Believe. In victories and defeats, you asked us to Smile. 10 years and 6 trophies later, here we are. Our forever captain your legacy will be etched in Blue & Gold. Thank you, Captain RO.”
However, the news has not gone well with Rohit Sharma fans and several other cricketers. MI is receiving a lot of backlash for their decision. Angry fans are even burning the jerseys of Mumbai Indians expressing outrage and demanding the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

While Suryakumar did not give any hint, fans are speculating that he is heartbroken over Rohit Sharma’s removal as captain.
“It’s hard to imagine that what Rohit Sharma meant to me could mean as much to anyone else.🥺 💔” shared a fan.
Another fan wrote, “In search of coal, Mumbai Indians lost a diamond.”
“Rohit Sharma was the only MI player whom I loved the most but guess what, both suffered back stabbing at the end for their loyalty towards this franchise 🥺💔. After all this also they are still choosing loyalty over money 🫡💔!!” another fan commented.
