Sanju Samson finally justified his selection in the Indian team after scoring a fluent half century against West Indies in the third and final ODI on Tuesday.
Sanju scored 51 of 41 balls to help India score a massive total of 351/5 against the hosts.
The right-handed batsman is in and out of the Indian team since his debut. After scoring the half-century Sanju has opened up. As per him, it’s not easy being an Indian cricketer.
“It feels really nice to spend some time in the middle, score some runs and contribute for your country. I had different plans for different bowlers. I wanted to use my feet and dominate the bowlers,” said Sanju.
“Being an Indian cricketer and playing in different positions is a challenging thing. I have been playing domestic cricket for the last eight-nine years and for India here and there. So, it gives me a fair bit of understanding about playing in different batting positions. It is the number of overs you get rather than the batting position and you prepare accordingly. The ball came slowly to the bat on the surface as it got old as the match progressed. It was tough to score runs on the pitch. Full credit to the middle order batters to hang on there and get a good score for India,” he added.
