A number of eminent archers across the country are participating in the tournament. Accomplished para-archer Payal Nag, who represents Odisha with pride and aspiration, is also taking part in the tournament.

Payal aims for best performance

Payal, a reigning national champion and gold medallist, is setting her sights on securing a gold medal at the Paralympics. Hailing from a background of inter-state migrant workers, Payal's journey is inspiring as she strives to bring honour to her home state.

"I am focused on achieving my best performance and aim to make Odisha proud," said Payal.

Earlier in January, Payal had made Odisha proud by securing a gold medal in an inspiring performance at the 6th National Para Archery Championship held in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The competition saw Payal surpassing her role model, Paralympic medallist Sheetal Devi, to clinch victory in the women's compound category, achieving a notable double gold.

Despite the significant challenge of overcoming the loss of an arm, Payal was motivated to pursue archery after being inspired by the videos of Sheetal Devi, a celebrated Olympian.
