The second successful team in IPL history, Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni has recently said that he is not sure whether he would contribute as a player for the franchise in the next edition of the cash-rich league, but the 'Captain Cool' has made it clear that he will certainly be the part of the team's camp.
With two more teams joining the bandwagon in 2022, there are lots of uncertainties around the retention rules for the franchises and the veteran wicket-keeper batsman revealed that he will take a suitable decision at the right time which will be good for everyone.
Earlier, Dhoni had said that he would love to turn up for Chennai Super Kings and fans can bid him farewell in Chennai next year.

The flamboyant cricketer has retired from international cricket in August 2020 but he has been leading CSK in the IPL over the last two years. After a forgettable outing last year, Dhoni has led the three-time champions to the play-offs in the ongoing edition of the tournament.
The experts are more or less sure that the Super Kings will retain Dhoni because of his cricketing acumen and the brand value he adds to the squad.
"Dhoni is more than just a player. CSK without Dhoni are not at all Super Kings and I am sure that the franchise should keep Dhoni for 2022," said former England spinner Graeme Swann.
Meanwhile, former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar has also batted for Dhoni's retention in CSK for the upcoming edition of the mega tournament.
"Dhoni wants to play in the next edition of IPL in front of Chennai fans. It's a positive thing for CSK and the franchise should try their best to retain the legendary cricketer," said Agarkar.
The veteran cricketer has not entirely ruled out playing for his franchise, but has indicated that he will take the decision based on the new retention policy and the money cap for the coming session.
As the bidding for the two new teams is expected to be held later this month, BCCI will be looking to come up with some new ideas which should be fare for the new franchises.
"With two new teams joining the high-voltage tournament in 2022, there are lots of uncertainties on the new retention policy. The franchises are not sure about the number of players they can retain and what is the money cap for teams. Let's wait for the development. Hopefully, things will shape up for the betterment of players and the franchises," said Dhoni.
"I will definitely wear the yellow jersey of CSK in 2022, but I don't know whether I will be playing for the team or take a different role altogether," said Dhoni.
