Stylish Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Venkatesh Iyer was in terrific form last night as he hit his maiden IPL century against Mumbai Indians (MI). The 28-year-old smashed 100 off just 49 balls and is in brilliant form this season.
His century was special for KKR as it is the first ton after 15 years when Brendon McCullum hit the century back in 2008. Iyer finally ended the 15 years of wait for KKR.
While Iyer took the cricket world by surprise, a cricket fan had already predicted that Iyer would score his first-ever T20 century. Almost three hours before the match, the Twitter user identified as ‘Shahid’ had predicted that Iyer would score his first T20 century on Sunday.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Shahid wrote, “Bold predictions for today’s match. Venkatesh Iyer will score his first ever t20 century in just 51 balls.”
