With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 wrapped up, the focus has shifted to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Punjab Kings (PBKS) have already begun their pre-season training, and their latest acquisition, Yuzvendra Chahal, has wasted no time making his presence felt—both on and off the field.
Chahal’s Viral Moment in Training
In a video shared by PBKS on social media, Chahal was seen playfully mimicking Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan’s famous phrase, “Yes, it is a two,” during a practice session. The light-hearted banter entertained teammates and quickly went viral, drawing reactions from fans worldwide.
A Record-Breaking Signing for PBKS
Despite taking 18 wickets in 15 matches during IPL 2024, Chahal was surprisingly released by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2025 season. Punjab Kings secured him for a staggering Rs 18 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, making him one of the most expensive buys of the season. His addition significantly strengthens PBKS as they continue their pursuit of a maiden IPL title.

Chahal’s National Team Aspirations
Chahal has been out of India’s playing XI since August 2023, facing stiff competition from younger spinners like Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi. However, he remains determined to make a comeback, and a strong IPL 2025 campaign could improve his chances of returning to the national squad ahead of upcoming international tournaments.
