With the much-anticipated second ODI between India and England set to take place at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on February 9, 2025, three Indian cricketers Varun Chakravarthy, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel visited the Puri Srimandir on Saturday to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath ahead of the crucial match.
The trio embarked on a spiritual journey to Puri before heading to the temple, where they travelled towards Srimandir in an e-auto, escorted by Puri Police officials. The security arrangements ensured a smooth and peaceful visit for the cricketers. Following their darshan, the players were honoured with the sacred 'Patitapabana Bana' by members of the Puri temple Administration as a mark of divine blessing. Expressing his joy after the temple visit, Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar shared a brief yet heartfelt reaction, saying, “The darshan was very good, thank you.”

As the players focus on their preparations for the upcoming high-stakes encounter, Team India is set to hold a practice session under floodlights at Barabati Stadium in the evening today. Meanwhile, the England squad has opted not to train in Cuttack today and will also not hold a pre-match press conference.
India currently leads the three-match ODI series 1-0, following a dominant victory in the first ODI at Nagpur. In that match, Indian batters Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel delivered standout performances, ensuring a comprehensive win against England.
The second ODI, scheduled for Sunday, promises to be an electrifying contest as India looks to seal the series, while England aims to level it.
