Fans across the globe slammed India captain Rohit Sharma for dropping hints that in-form Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan will be dropped from the playing XI for the first ODI against Sri Lanka at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.
Rohit confirmed in the pre-match press conference that promising Shubman Gill will open with him. It means Ishan, who had smashed his maiden ODI double hundred against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram last month, will be out of action.
The skipper also said that India would give preference to those players who have done well in the ODI format. As per the skipper’s indication, India’s Mr 360 degree batsman Suryakumar Yadav is also most likely to miss out from the final squad.
However, Rohit’s indication and intention has not gone down well with several fans. They are now reacting and questioning this call from Rohit on social media platforms.
Hitting back at Rohit, a fan tweeted, “No he’s not injury free..he has some strong wounds in his brain or else why do you think he would have dropped #IshanKishan and #SuryakumarYadav for KL Rahul.”
