Karun Nair hit a hundred for India A against England Lions
Following his comeback to the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against England after a long gap, prolific batter Karun Nair has now made a strong case for himself to be included in the playing XI for the first Test against the hosts.
Karun delivered a masterful display with the bat on Day 1 of the first four-day match during India A's tour of the England Lions at St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury on Friday.
The seasoned campaigner appeared in complete control on a surface that offered good value for batting. He hit a brilliant century against the Lions. As per the latest report, he is unbeaten on 114 with Dhruv Jurel (8 no) giving him company.
India A were in a great position with 258 for the loss of three wickets on the third session of day one.
Unfortunately, Team India discard Sarfaraz Khan missed his century by a whisker. Though he batted aggressively he got out on 92.

Coming in at No. 3 after captain and opener Abhimanyu Easwaran fell cheaply, Karun put on a batting clinic against the red Dukes ball.
Karun became the first Indian batter to hit a hundred on the much-awaited tour of England. The 33-year-old, who has returned to the Indian Test side after seven years, hit his 24th first-class hundred. It was also his second successive fifty in red-ball cricket after his match-winning hundred in the Ranji Trophy final for Vidarbha in February.
