Sanju Samson
Cricket is often considered as a great leveler. Prior to the T20I series against England, aggressive wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson was in great form especially in the shortest format of the game. However, Samson has been struggling to get going in the current series.
Samson’s form has become a concern for the Indian team as the wicket-keeper batter has registered three low scores against England. England speedster Jofra Archer has dismissed him on three occasions in almost similar fashions.
Though former India great Ambati Rayudu and Sunil Gavaskar slammed Samson for his repeated failures, former England great Kevin Pietersen backed him for the remaining matches. Pietersen also refused to criticize the aggressive batter.

“Samson plays the short ball well and I really like him as a batter. I can’t question his form and technique just after three failures. We all know what he did in the previous series in South Africa. He is a free-flowing batter who likes to go for the shots. You can encounter such moments in your career. You win some, and you lose some in cricket,” said Pietersen.
“Samson has come good consistently. I will question his technique if he fails for six months. Samson is too good a batter and I am sure he will score runs,” he added.
