ICC has already given ‘poor’ rating to the Holkar Stadium in Indore where the third Test match between India and Australia was played. As per reports, Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) is unlikely to risk its reputation by preparing a diabolical pitch like Indore which will get a red eye from the game’s governing body.
As per GCA sources, they have not received any instructions from the Indian team management so far and their local curators are preparing a normal track.
In the last Ranji match played on the track in January, Railways scored 500 plus batting first. Gujarat faced innings defeat in the match. However, they scored 200 plus in both the innings.
“It won’t be too different this time. The endeavour from our side is to produce a good Test match pitch,” said a GCA official.
Notably, ahead of the third Test in Indore, skipper Rohit Sharma had given a hint of preparing a green top in Ahmedabad.
The fourth Test match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from March 9-13. There are 96 hours still left for the final match to begin and one doesn’t know what will happen once BCCI curators Taposh Chatterjee and Ashsh Bhowmick take over.
