Aggressive wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has failed miserably in the T20 series against England. The star batter disappointed one and all by scoring just 51 runs in five innings.

Samson headed into the T20 series against England on the back of three brilliant T20I tons, which he hammered against Bangladesh and South Africa. However, he failed to emulate his brilliant form in the 5-match T20I series against England.

Making things worse, Samson was dismissed five times in his attempt to play the short ball. Former India great and BCCI chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth too was disappointed saying that Samson is currently going on an ego trip. He further said that Samson was determined in his mind to prove that he could play the shot.

“Samson seems to have missed the bus. For the fifth time, getting out in the same manner. He has played a similar shot. I think he is trying to show his ego. He is trying to say ‘no, no, I will play this shot’. Is he going on an ego trip or struggling? I am not sure,” said Srikkanth.

“It’s very sad. I am disappointed. We spoke about why he was not picked in the Champions Trophy squad. If he continues playing like this, let’s say thank you, sorry, Yashasvi Jaiswal is back. In the next T20I match, Yashasvi automatically comes in, in my opinion,” he added.
