Getting deprived of fair chances in own country, the exodus of Indian domestic players to America continues with the latest retirement of Delhi batsman Milind Kumar from Indian cricket to play for cash-rich Minor League in the US.
The 30 year old cricketer joined former Indian U-19 captain Unmukt Chand and an array of other domestic cricketers like Timil Patel, Smit Patel, Sourav Netravalkar, Sunny Sohal and Siddharth Trivedi who have joined the league in the past. Milind will play for Philadelphians in the league.
As per BCCI’s guideline, an Indian player has to retire from Indian cricket to play in overseas leagues.

“I have enjoyed up to the hilt playing for Delhi with some great players like Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Ishant Sharma. Now, it’s time to move on. I have informed about my decision to the BCCI,” said Milind after announcing his retirement.
Apart from Delhi, Milind has also played for Sikkim and Tripura state teams. He has also represented Delhi Daredevils in 2013 and Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Overall, Milind has played 46 first class games notching up a total of 2988 runs with an impressive average of 46.68. He has the highest score of 261 runs under his belt with nine hundreds and 15 half-centuries. He has also played a total of 65 List A matches and amassed 2023 runs (1 century and 18 fifties) with an average of 43.04. He also has 58 T20 matches to his name with a total score of 1176 runs (6 half-centuries) and an average of 29.40.
Playing for Sikkim in the Plate League 2018-19 Ranji session, Milind had slammed 1331 runs in just eight games (six hundreds, four fifties) with an incredible average of 121. In doing so, he broke the record of Shreyas Iyer’s record of most runs in an edition of Ranji trophy.
