Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan’s terrific batting coupled with Jasprit Bumrah’s sensational 5-wicket haul helped Mumbai Indians (MI) thrash Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by seven wickets in last night’s match.
Despite MI’s win, the spectators at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai weren’t too pleased with Hardik Pandya who had to face severe booing from the crowd. The India all-rounder has been the subject of trolling ever since he replaced Rohit Sharma as the skipper of MI.
As expected, the Wankhede crowd also brutally trolled and booed him. However, what Virat Kohli did for Pandya was the least expected. The aggressive batsman and India’s run-machine, much to the shock of many, took a stand for Pandya and asked the crowd to stop booing.
Pandya was booed when he came to bowl during the RCB’s batting. But, he had to face more booing when he came out to bat after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal. While Rohit was cheered heavily with every shot, Hardik had a tough time finding appreciation from the crowd.
Seeing the heavy trolling, Kohli was quick to react and signaled the spectators to stop booing. King Kohli gestured the crowd to stop the negative reception and urged them to cheer for the MI captain. Even as the crowd did not cheer up for Pandya, Kohli’s gesture for him has earned praises online.
