Promising Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne is one of the most peculiar characters in world cricket. Recently he has been dethroned as the World No.1 Test batter in the world.
Labuschagne rarely takes the field without having a chewing gum in his mouth. The 29-year-old South Africa-born batsman is an orthodox Test batsman who not only puts runs on the table but also entertains the spectators across the globe.
During the Day one of the ongoing second Ashes Test against England at Lord’s, Labuschagne did a peculiar thing. When Labuschagne was batting alongside Steve Smith, the cameras spotted him dropping a chewing gum from his mouth while adjusting his gloves.
However, to utter surprise to many, Labuschagne picked it up and tossed it back into his mouth. The incident happened ahead of the 45th over of the game.
A video clip of the peculiar incident has now gone viral on various social media platforms.
In reply to Australia’s first innings score of 416, England were 278/4 at stumps of Day two following an unbroken stand of 56 between Harry Brook (45 n o) and captain Ben Stokes (17 n o).
