Ajinkya Rahane returns from dressing room to bat again
In a strange happening during the Mumbai vs Jammu and Kashmir Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match at the BKC ground in Mumbai, Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane was called back by the on-field umpires almost five minutes after he was dismissed and entered the dressing room.
The development happened after the third umpire informed that the bowler had overstepped. After the unusual incident, question mark has been raised over umpiring standards in domestic cricket.
As per reports, J&K pacer Umar Nazir bowled a short ball and as a result Rahane was caught off guard. He only managed to glove it to the keeper while trying to play a pull shot. Subsequently, Rahane started working towards the dressing room and the next batter Shardul Thakur walked in to the middle. However, the umpires had not checked the no-ball.
