Hitman Rohit Sharma is in terrific form and has been one of the key contributors in the last four games of India in the 2023 World Cup. The Indian skipper’s batting form has been one of the key highlights of India’s win against Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Fans have high hopes of winning the World Cup this year, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s renowned pulled shots and his strong mindset in playing the game. However, cricket lovers across the globe were left in shock after reports of Rohit Sharma overspeeding emerged on social media.
Worried fans are now taking to social media to urge the India Captain to avoid fate like Rishabh Pant who has been away from the game following a bad car crash last New Year. Reports suggest that Rohit was fined for overspeeding twice on the Pune-Mumbai highway while driving to the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune from Mumbai.
If reports are to be believed, Rohit Sharma was driving at the speed of over 200kmph. His luxury car was captured by auto cameras installed on both lanes of the expressway. However, Police later confirmed that Rohit was caught driving at 105kmph and 117kmph on the highway while the speed limit is only 100kmph.
He was later handed a fine of Rs 4000 (Rs 2000 each on both occasions) which he promptly paid, reports said. However, the news has not gone well with his fans and well-wishers who urged him to be safe and ensure India’s historic win in the 2023 World Cup.
Meanwhile, the Men in Blue are gearing up to face New Zealand in their fifth group match of the ICC ODI World Cup this Sunday.
