Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) registered a convincing victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 10th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. In the process, the team scripted their sixth consecutive victory at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium against the Bengaluru-based team.
Following the defeat, RCB were pushed to the sixth spot in the points table.
Meanwhile, former England captain Michael Vaughan raised doubts about the franchise’s prospects in the IPL, expressing his concerns on social media.
“Impossible for @RCB to win the IPL with this bowling attack,” wrote Vaughan on social media account X (earlier known as Twitter).
Despite losing quick wickets, RCB managed to post a respectable total of 182/6, thanks to a remarkable innings by Virat Kohli, who remained unbeaten on 83 runs off 59 balls. However, KKR’s batting prowess proved too much for RCB’s bowling attack to handle.
With RCB bowlers struggling hard, KKR batters chased the target easily in 16.5 overs. Mohammed Siraj, Alzarri Joseph, and Yash Dayal, struggled to contain the flow of runs, conceding over 11 runs per over.
