A war of words broke out on social media between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the ‘expiry date’ of the ruling party is on June 4, when the results of the 2024 elections will be announced.
The Prime Minister said this while addressing the Vijay Sankalp Samavesh at Kainsi in Ganjam on Monday.
The Odisha BJP took to its official X handle and posted a picture of an RFID tag with these details: "Reg No: Biju Janata Dal; Mfg date: 26 December 1997; Exp date: 4 June 2024”
On the other hand, the BJD posted an invitation card extending an invitation to the oath-taking ceremony of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

BJD leader, Sasmit Patra uploaded the picture on his X handle saying, "Invitation Card for oath-taking ceremony: As the longest serving chief minister of the country, Naveen Patnaik will take oath as Odisha's Chief Minister for the sixth time.”
The date of the oath-taking ceremony was mentioned as June 9, 2024.
Vice President of Odisha BJP, Biranchi Tripathy said, "The ruling party is in its last stage and is scared of the BJP’s massive growth. For that reason, the party has staged such a farce. The party has seen the massive gatherings at the rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
No response was received from the BJD.
