No discussions were held on alliance, said Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal after his arrival from New Delhi on Friday.
While speculations are rife about the alliance between the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the BJP, Samal today reiterated that his party will fight alone in both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha.
Commenting on the meetings in Delhi, he said that discussions were held on how the party would form governments in the state and the centre.
Meanwhile, suspense over the alliance has deepened further.

Earlier in the day, senior BJP leader Prithviraj Harichandan had also said that no decision has been taken with respect to an alliance.
“The state president and key party leaders have told the central leadership that there will be good results if we fight the election alone. Therefore, the BJP will act as per the decision of the central leadership,” Harichandan had said.
“Speculations about an alliance are only going on in social media. I do not have any information about any alliance. As far as I know, there is a greater chance of the BJP fighting the election alone in Odisha. It is better to stay away from the fictitious stories,” he had added.
Two BJD leaders VK Pandian and Pranab Prakash Das’ visit to New Delhi on Thursday evening had only lent credence to speculations on an alliance.
However, the BJD leaders are also tight-lipped about the alliance. While answering reporters, BJD’s Women Wing president, Snehangini Chhuria said she wouldn’t like to comment on the matter.
