A well-planned conspiracy has been hatched to hand over power to VK Pandian through the backdoor, said BJP leader Samir Mohanty on Friday.
Launching a broadside against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for contesting from two seats, Mohanty said, “There is a plan behind the Chief Minister fighting elections from two seats. As per our guess, he will leave a seat for him who has been placed second in the party’s star campaigners’ list and who travelled across the state and held meetings in the past.”
“His (Chief Minister) motive is that he will introduce the Babu, who is VK Panidan' to the people and hand over the ultimate governance power to him,” Mohanty said.

“Since the BJP is fighting the elections on the basis of the pride of the Odia, it won’t let the Chief Minister’s plan to fructify,” he added.
In response to Samir Mohanty’s statement, the BJD said it is purely based on imagination and there is not an iota of truth in it.
“We all know that the Odisha BJP has a fake news factory. From here, written documents come to its leaders who read them out before you. They always read out baseless things,” said Sulata Deo, BJD MP.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will contest from two Assembly constituencies and they are Hinjili in Ganjam district, which is his home turf and Kantabanji in Bolangir district. In 2019 also, he fought from two seats. One was Hinjili and the other one was Bijepur in Bargarh district.
