BJP may win around 16 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha: Amit Shah

“We are very much on the track and that will be revealed after the announcement of the result. NDA will cross 400 seats before 12.30 on the result announcement day and Narendra Modi will be the Prime Minister again,” said Shah.

‘More Than 100 Seats in 2 Phases of Elections’

Shah expressed confidence that, as per their detailed analysis, BJP will win more than 100 seats in the first two phases of the elections.

“I don’t have any hesitation that BJP will win more than 400 seats in the ongoing General Elections. We will repeat our past performances in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Gujarat and Karnataka up to 100 per cent. We will win five to seven seats more in Uttar Pradesh and if everything goes well, we may win all the 80 seats. We will win around 16 seats in Odisha. We may emerge victorious in more than 12 seats in Assam. We will triumph in at least 30 seats in West Bengal,” said Shah.

Reason Behind Low Voter Turnout

As per Shah, the reason behind low voter turnout is due to the correction of the voter’s list after 12 years.

“There has been no strong contest from the other parties. As a result, it has strongly affected the participation of voters in the polling process,” said Shah.

Earlier during an interview with a national news channel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that Odia pride is under threat and Odia language is in danger.

“Odia language and Odisha’s asmita (pride) are under threat. I don’t think Odisha people will tolerate it for long,” Modi had said.
