The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday trained guns at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) by bringing a chargesheet highlighting the ruling party's failures despite being in power for the last 25 years in Odisha. The BJP chargesheet also calls people to raise voice against the injustice meted out to them and vote for a change in the upcoming 2024 elections.
BJP National Vice-President and party’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate, Baijayant Jay Panda said that the chargesheet which has been released by BJP against the ruling BJD has been prepared after taking feedback from the people of Odisha.
The chargesheet, released by Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, showed statistics which highlighted that Odisha is lagging behind on several fronts.
According to Panda, forget about the safety of women, Odisha has become no 1 for being unsafe for women; and, crime against children is also on the rise in the state. “
The Union Minister also highlighted how Odisha is lagging when other parts of the country are benefitting from the ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission of the Centre. Similarly, lakhs of Odias are migrating to other parts of the country and globe as they are not getting ample job opportunities here,” said Panda.
Panda further said that several startling revelations were made by the Union Minister as he informed how electricity is being provided at cheaper rates to Tamil Nadu by Odisha.
Earlier, while releasing the chargesheet, Union Minister Bhupinder Yadav alleged that Odisha is providing electricity to Tamil Nadu at much lower rates than what is being charged from the consumers in the state.

“The Tamil Nadu Generation Distribution Corporation is buying power at 2.53 paisa per unit from Odisha while the consumers of the state are being charged 2.83 paisa per unit. The top leaders and those running the government in Odisha need to answer this to the people of the state,” said Yadav.
