Several workers from the BJP and BJD suffered injuries on Friday allegedly after a scuffle erupted between them in Bajarapur Panchayat under Bansada Police limits in Bhadrak.
As per reports, while filing of nomination papers on Friday, workers of both parties came face to face. Soon the situation went out of control and they exchanged blows.
The injured include former sarpanch Narayan Majhi, Ranjan Dash, Koushalya Mahalik and Kailash Chandra Bilas.

In this regard, the BJP lodged a complaint at Bansada Police Station against former sarpanch Narayan Majhi, the present sarpanch’s husband and his associates. Similarly, BJD too lodged a counter-complaint.
Acting on the complaints, the police have launched a probe.
“The sarpanch’s husband is responsible for this. If no one is arrested within 24 hours, we will take the law into our hands,” said Kapila Mahalik, an injured BJP worker.
Terming the allegations as baseless, Rahul Sahu, sarpanch’s husband and BJD worker said, “Only police investigation can find out the truth.”
When contacted, Chandbali SDPO Kartik Chandra Mallik said, “Our investigation is underway. Once it is completed, we can say who all were involved.”
