Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) chief, Sarat Pattanayak on Thursday took a jibe at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) saying that the ruling party will make an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) not for the interest of the state but for own benefits.

“The BJD and the BJP under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik were ruling Odisha from 2000 to 2009. Even after that, they (the BJD) are still working with them (the BJP). With the Naveen Patnaik-led government being mired in corruption, they are afraid of the ED and the CBI action which is why they have surrendered themselves before the BJP,” said Pattanayak.
