Bhubaneswar: Alleging gross irregularities in the allotment of pucca houses under PM Awas Yojana, the Odisha unit of BJP has decided to stage state-wide protests for three days on July 7, 8, 9 in all the districts across the State.
At a press meet, BJP State president Sameer Mohanty alleged massive scam to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore in the PM Awas Yojana.
"The BJP will carry out a mass movement in all blocks across the State to expose the State government which is involved in a massive corruption in the rural housing scheme. The agitation will take to further level if the State government doesn't stop such a corruption," Mohanty said.
The large scale corruption in housing scheme has come to fore after the Central team revealed it in its report.

Mohanty alleged that pucca houses were allotted to the ineligible beneficiaries in Tangi of Khurdha district. Similarly, funds under the scheme has been granted to the people in Niali block for construction of cow shed.
Plaques mentioning Biju Pucca Ghara Yojana have been installed on the wall of the houses built under central housing scheme, Mohanty alleged.
He further said that funds have been forwarded to the bank accounts 98,562 beneficiaries by the BDOs through manual override in a soft data base.
Most of the houses are constructed with sub-standard materials with no windows, doors and toilets. Many houses are yet to get its floor and other works, he said.
As many as nine districts have received no work order for the pucca houses, while Jharsuguda district got only four houses, Mohanty alleged.
“As many as 19 districts are rain-wind affected where Rs 1.30 lakh is being provided per house and Rs 1.20 lakh in rests of the districts. If the cost of one unit is Rs 1.20 lakh and irregularities in allotment of 1 lakh houses have come to fore, corruption to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore is quite clear in the housing scheme in State,” the BJP president said.
“If we analyse further that Centre has allotted up to 26 lakh houses to the State. The central committee has pointed out the irregularities in 19 blocks of five districts in the State only,” he pointed out.
