A group of unidentified persons vandalised the Congress Bhawan, near Master Canteen Square in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
Though the exact reason behind the rampaging act is yet to be known, many party insiders believe that it could have been the handiwork of some disgruntled members of the Odisha Youth Congress.
As per reports, a group of unidentified youths broke into the office of the Youth Congress, located in the premises of the Congress Bhawan, and smashed plastic chairs, tables and furniture on Wednesday morning.

Reacting over the development, Youth Congress leader Nihar Ranjan Behera said, “The people involved in the vandalism are yet to be identified. Some Youth Congress workers were dissatisfied with the style of functioning by president, Smruti Ranjan Lenka. We believe they might have been involved in the vandalisation of the office,” said Behera.
“Lenka is often unreachable to the youth members of the party at the office. It is difficult for the ordinary members to meet the top leadership often to convey the latter about the problems they are facing at the grassroots. So, out of frustration they might have resorted to damaging property at the party office,” said Behera.
"As many as five members of youth Congress ransacked the party office this morning. Similarly, around three workers of the party went on a rampage and vandalised Congress Bhavan in the evening. Being a Congressman, I cannot tolerate this kind of disturbances in the party," said senior leader Sura Routray.
"These are all our own internal problems and if stern action is taken, such things could be avoided," he added.
It is worth mentioning that earlier in 2019, dissatisfied party workers had caused damage to property at the Congress Bhawan protesting over the allocation of tickets for the Assembly elections.
