After launching a scathing attack on BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik for the poll debacle, senior leader Amar Prasad Satpathy on Thursday fired a fresh salvo against the party claiming that a few more Rajya Sabha MPs may snap ties with the conch party soon.
Speaking to the media, Satpathy said, “There is no doubt that there is resentment among the BJD leaders. Though many of them are silent, many things will happen in the future. A few more BJD Rajya Sabha MPs may leave the party.”
Asked about BJD Rajya Sabha MP Debashish Samantaray's comment, the veteran leader said, “I feel very sorry for the immaturity and lack of knowledge of Debashish babu and others who are coming up with such statements. I feel pity on their ignorance of the fact.”
“As I have already said I am no longer a member of the BJD, it will not be good for me to comment on the party affairs. As I am an independent, many leaders from the party are in touch with me,” he added.

On being asked about BJD leaders' comment on the role of VK Pandian in the party, he said, “Naveen Patnaik should clarify that Pandian is not the leader of the party. No one is answering my question. The party president should reply who is responsible for such a situation?”
Commenting on Lenin Mohanty’s ‘suffocation’ remark, Satpathy said, “I never used suffocation word in my statement. Those who are speaking on behalf of Naveen Patnaik are causing damage to the party.”
Reacting to Satpathy’s statement, BJD leader Sudhir Samal said those who want reform in the party should have a one-to-one discussion with the supremo, not in media.
“Those who want reform should go to the party president and speak to him directly, media is not the right forum. If something is going on in my house and I am revealing it outside, then I am not a member of the family. When a party suffers defeat, allegations and counter-allegations surface,” Samal said.
