In a violent turn of events, a youth was stabbed while trying to mediate a dispute involving an electric vehicle near Charampa School Road under Bhadrak Town Police Station limits on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred when an argument broke out between a young man who was starting his electric vehicle and a few others present at the spot. According to local sources, the disagreement began over vibrations caused while starting the vehicle, which led to a heated verbal exchange.
In an attempt to defuse the situation, Kartik Chandra Padhi, a friend of the vehicle owner, intervened. However, the confrontation escalated, and Kartik was allegedly stabbed with a sharp weapon by one of the youths involved in the altercation.
Kartik sustained injuries and was rushed by local residents to a nearby medical facility for treatment. His condition is said to be stable but under observation.
Following the incident, Bhadrak Town Police launched a probe and are conducting raids at multiple locations to nab the accused.
An official FIR has been registered, and preliminary investigation suggests personal enmity or provocation during the argument may have led to the attack.
"It all started when the vehicle was being started. They were threatening my friend, and when I tried to intervene, I was stabbed," the victim said.
