A village in Bolangir in Odisha witnessed an unusual spectacle after a local youth climbed atop an electric tower, causing concern among residents.
The youth has been identified as Siddheswar Bhoi from the Kharmar Munda locality under the jurisdiction of Puintala police station. After Bhoi undertook the perilous climb, it promoted a swift response from emergency services.
Soon police and fire brigade personnel rushed to the scene after getting information about Bhoi’s act.

Their primary challenge was to ascertain the youth’s motive, which so far was a mystery to the authorities. Some locals claim that it is not for the first time that Bhoi has climbed atop an electric tower. He was indulged in similar acts in the past as well.
It is said that Bhoi is mentally unstable and is under treatment.
“My son told me that he was going for a bath when he left home at around 8 am today. Later, I came to know that he has climbed atop the electric tower in the village. We had consulted a doctor as my son is having some mental disorder,” informed Bhoi’s father.
Witnesses in the area expressed their concern over the unexpected event, heightening the urgency of the rescue operation.

While the youth’s reason for climbing the tower is yet to be ascertained, authorities continue to prioritise his safe return to the ground. The situation has captured the attention of local communities, highlighting the importance of swift emergency responses in the unusual incident.
