A family funeral at Majhipada village under Bamra block in Sambalpur district took a shocking turn when a dispute among siblings escalated into a fatal confrontation. During the family gathering the middle sister was allegedly stabbed by her younger brother and elder sister to death.
The deceased has been identified as Lina Sahu.
As per reports, there was a heated exchange leading to the confrontation among the siblings due to some reason during the family gathering on the occasion of their father’s big brother’s funeral ceremony. As a result, the younger brother and the elder sister lost their cool and allegedly stabbed Lina with a knife to death.
The victim was immediately rushed to Bamra hospital by the family members in a critical condition. However, doctors declared her brought dead. Upon being informed, Govindpur police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.

The incident has left the local community in shock. As details continue to emerge, questions surrounding the motive and circumstances of the confrontation remain.
"I don't know the exact reason behind their internal quarrel. However, there was a confrontation between the siblings that led to her death," said Arakhita Sahu, a relative of the deceased.
As per local residents, Lina's siblings were irked on why she was invited to the funeral ceremony as they had some family dispute.
However, the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
