Young BJD leader found hanging in Sundargarh, suicide over love affairs suspected

The body of a young political worker was found hanging inside his house located at Rajabati under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Dhiraj Prasad. He was the Sundargarh town president of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

According to sources, Dhiraj was found hanging from the ceiling fan installed in his house.

On being informed about the incident, the Town Police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Sundargarh hospital for post-mortem.

Sources said Dhiraj spent his time in merrymaking with his friends hours before his death. But, later at 12.52 am on Wednesday, he shared a WhatsApp status that reads ‘Sorry all of you’.

Though the exact reason behind Dhiraj’s death is unknown, speculations are life that the young BJD leader might have taken the extreme step over a love affair.

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the matter to find out the exact reason behind Dhiraj’s death.
