Yellow alert: Dense fog very likely in Odisha districts during next 3 days

Dense fog is expected to blanket parts of Odisha over the next 72 hours, with the India Meteorological Department regional centre issuing a Yellow Warning for several districts. Fog will likely disrupt visibility, especially in early morning hours, across various regions.

With no significant synoptic system lying over the region, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha during the next 72 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted on Monday.

The IMD centre issued a Yellow Warning in these districts for the next three days.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Minimum Temperatures observed appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and no large change elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, appreciably above normal at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

For Monday (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 04.02.2025)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Khurda, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Ganjam and at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Keonjhargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi.

Yellow Warning (Be aware)- Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Khurda, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Ganjam.

For Tuesday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.02.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 05.02.2025)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Ganjam and at one or two places over the district of Nayagarh, Balasore, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, and Angul.

Yellow Warning (Be aware)- Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, and Ganjam.

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati and at one or two places over the district of Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Koraput.
