A woman from a village under Baripada Sadar police limits was admitted to Baripada Medical College in critical condition. It is alleged that the woman was gangraped. The case sparked concern and discussions in the locality, with police initiating an investigation based on a formal complaint lodged by the woman’s husband.
According to the complaint, the woman was allegedly abducted and gangraped by four men from the Rajabasa area while her husband was away from home. The accused reportedly entered the house and forcibly took her away before committing the crime.
After returning home and not finding his wife, the complainant began searching for her. He later found her in a critical state and immediately admitted her to Baripada Medical College for treatment.
Based on the written complaint, Baripada Sadar Police have registered a case against the four named individuals. Police have also recorded statements from the survivor and her husband as part of the preliminary inquiry.
While the police have yet to issue an official statement regarding the progress of the investigation, sources suggest that there may have been a change in the survivor’s and her husband’s statements during the recording process.
