Woman bludgeoned to death in Odisha’s Bolangir

In a gruesome incident, a woman was reportedly bludgeoned to death with a stone in Bolangir on Thursday. Her body was found on a field under a tree near Satamile Chhak under Puintala police limits.

The woman was suspected to have been murdered. Though the deceased has not been identified, the saree she wears suggests that she could be someone working under Mission Shakti.

Locals say, the type of saree worn by the deceased is part of the cress code of CRP of Mission Shakti. It is suspected that the woman might have been killed during her duty  

On being informed, Puintala police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into it. The body was seized for post-mortem. Police also seized a gold ring and a cell phone near the body.

The police are interrogating locals to ascertain her identity.
