What started from Odisha has spread to Haryana, Maharashtra: PM Narendra Modi in Bhubaneswar
I can see and feel the happiness and glow on your faces. I can see the faith in your eyes after the results of recently held elections. What started from here, has spread to Haryana and Maharashtra, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing people at the airport square in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
He instantly struck a chord with the people by starting his speech with ‘Jai Jagannath’ and in Odia language.
He also mentioned about the quality time he spent at Odisha Parva in New Delhi.

“Five days ago I had the opportunity to attend Odisha Parva and to taste the masala tea. It was a beautiful programme. What I took away from Odisha Parva was the rich Odia heritage, love and affection of Odia people," he said.
“Till some months before the elections, experts were rejecting BJP. They were saying the BJP cannot form a government on its own. But when the results came, they were stunned. When we didn’t have government in the state, the names of our yojanas were being changed. Still, we worked for the development of Odisha. The representation of Odisha in the cabinet is unprecedented. The central government had never thought whether our government was in the state or not. We were only trying to serve Odisha. New schemes were launched. The Odisha people understood our principles and working style and started believing in us. They blessed us with open hearts,” he added.
“When I was going to the interior parts, I was getting nervous thinking about how I should communicate my words in the Hindi language. But what I was noticing the language never emerged as a barrier. ‘Bhav’ (feelings) was so strong that it was way above the ‘Bhasha’ (language),” he said.
“You and even the media people will also be astonished to know that the DGP conference is being organised every year since the British rule. But, it is being held in Odisha for the first time. After four days, on December 4, the Indian Navy Day will be observed in Puri. In itself, it’s a big occasion where the Indian Navy will showcase its ability on the Blue Flag Beach. It means, Odisha will be at the center of the world’s vision. And, a huge event like Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will be held in Bhubaneswar from January 8 to January 10. People from across the world will attend it. When they return, various things about Odisha will reach the different parts of the world. Here, the tourism industry will grow. I want to give priority to Odisha on the map of not only India but of the world,” he added.
It was his third visit to Odisha after the BJP formed government in the state.
