Vigilance arrests doctor for accepting bribe to issue favourable post-mortem report in Cuttack
The Vigilance officials on Wednesday apprehended Dr Biswanath Adhek, a surgery specialist posted at Badamba Community Health Centre (CHC) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a person to issue a favourable post-mortem report.
It is alleged that the concerned surgery specialist had demanded Rs 5,000 from the complainant to issue a favourable post-mortem report of his deceased son with assurance to depose favourable evidence in the Court during the trial.

The complainant had paid Rs 2000 to the doctor a few days back. After the complainant reported the matter to the Vigilance officials, a trap was laid and the accused doctor was apprehended while taking Rs 2000 as a second instalment from the complainant.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are being carried out at two locations of Dr. Adhek from a disproportionate assets angle.
