Security arrangements and preparations are in full swing at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar with just over two days left for the Utkarsh Odisha - Make in Odisha Conclave 2025. Prompt surveillance and security protocols are being implemented by the Commissionerate Police ahead of the arrival of dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
To ensure elaborate safety, security, protocol, crowd control, and traffic management plans are being chalked out while continued surveillance is being operated to ensure smooth proceedings, stated Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh.
Preparations are in progress. We have assessed the security requirements and determined the required number of police personnel, who are currently being deployed. Heightened surveillance is being operated,” the Commissioner said on Saturday.

This mega investment summit will be held over two days, on the 28th and 29th of January. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the conclave at 11 am on Tuesday after arriving in Bhubaneswar. Incidentally, this will be the PM’s second visit to the state in one month.
Further, the Make In Odisha conclave will feature prominent industrialists from across the country along with several international investors. The event is also expected to attract investment proposals worth over Rs 5 lakh crore, potentially generating more than 3.5 lakh jobs.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recently emphasized that the conclave will serve as a milestone in creating a robust economic and industrial foundation for Odisha, which is aspiring to rank among the top five economies in India. Notably, over the last six months, Odisha has approved investments worth Rs 2.4 lakh crore.

Prominent industrial leaders like Sajjan Jindal of JSW, Naveen Jindal of JSPL, Anil Agarwal of Vedanta, and Kumar Mangalam Birla of Aditya Birla Group have been invited, along with major corporations such as Tata and Reliance.
CM Majhi will also celebrate the accomplishments of 60 entrepreneurs under the age of 40 from across the state, marking the first time that such recognition will be observed at the conclave.

Previous Make in Odisha conclaves have yielded significant investment commitments. For example, the 2018 edition saw proposed investments of over Rs 4.19 lakh crore. Further, these events have facilitated the grounding of several projects in sectors like metal and metal downstream, chemicals, plastics, textiles, food processing, tourism, and IT.
What is the focus of the Make in Odisha Conclave 2025?
The Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 focuses on employment-generating sectors. In this edition, The state government will focus on employment-generating industries such as manufacturing, textiles, renewable energy, green hydrogen, green ammonia, and shipbuilding and repair, aiming to establish Odisha among India's top five economies.
The event will feature at least 15 focused sessions to explore opportunities and tackle challenges within various sectors.

This edition also marks a strategic shift by adopting a more focused approach, emphasizing sector-specific investments in IT, renewable energy, chemicals, textiles, and food processing.
The top 20 companies from each of these sectors are expected to participate, along with over 100 Fortune 500 companies, indicating a strong global interest in Odisha's investment potential and broadening the state’s industrial horizon beyond its traditional strengths in metals and minerals.
