In a tragic road accident late Saturday night near Ladukhai under Burla police limits of Sambalpur district, a car lost control and crashed into a road divider on NH-53, resulting in the death of two young men and leaving two others critically injured.
The accident occurred as the vehicle, carrying four individuals, was returning from a roadside eatery near Gosala to Godbhaga.
According to sources, all four occupants were residents of the Godbhaga area in Sambalpur district. They have been identified as Manish Yadav, Subrat Sahu, Saurabh Gupta, and Akash Pattnayak, all aged between 25 and 30.
Manish and Subrat died on the spot due to the severity of the collision, while Saurabh and Akash sustained critical injuries and were rushed to VIMSAR in Burla for emergency treatment.
Car Collided, Flipped Over, and Hit a Truck
Preliminary investigations suggest that the car was travelling at a dangerously high speed when the driver lost control near Ladukhai.
The vehicle reportedly first rammed into the road divider, flipped over, and subsequently collided with a truck. The impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, making rescue efforts difficult for emergency responders.

Police Investigation Underway
Burla police and Gosala outpost officials quickly arrived at the scene, recovering the bodies and sending them for post-mortem to Burla Medical.
The two injured passengers were immediately admitted to VIMSAR, where their condition remains critical, as per the latest reports.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to determine whether negligence, overspeeding, or any other factor contributed to the mishap.
